Academic, scientific or professional interest: As an hygienic, prophylactic, healing means, physical exercise in its different aspects has been used since the origins of human concern for health. The need of physiotherapists have to increase their specific knowledge regarding the therapeutic exercise and the methodology used in the functional recovery make this master’s degree an interesting and necessary training offer. Functional recovery is more important each day in the treatment of different conditions, pathologies and injuries. Likewise, it is the most adequate palliative treatment in chronic pathology and the one with most scientific proofs in its different application fields. This is why physiotherapists must learn and improve specifically this therapeutic resource of great importance in physiotherapy. For a good functional recovery by means of exercise, technically called kinesiotherapy, it is necessary to know a series of basic subjects specifically addressed to it. Some of these general subjects are anatomy and clinical biomechanics, histology and physiology of the conjunctive tissue, the use of the image diagnose in the functional recovery of the patient, the planning and protocol of work systems by means of exercise, as well as specific aspects in the different stages of recovery, correct choice of exercises according the objective or the adequate use of electrostimulation according to those aspects, among others. Furthermore, they will achieve abilities related to the knowledge of these basic sciences and the most appropriate techniques for the correct diagnosis and valuation, the students have to learn the specific techniques of treatment which are used as a complement of kinaesthesia.
