Full Professor. Trained at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Aston University, and Louisiana State University, he has developed his academic and research career in Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He leads the ORBITA group, and his research focuses on the ocular surface, cornea, refractive surgery, intraocular lenses, presbyopia, contact lenses, and dry eye. He has led projects funded at European, national, and regional levels, serves on several editorial boards, and has authored more than 125 peer-reviewed articles in indexed scientific journals.
