Biography

Professor at the University of Valencia, in the Department of French and Italian Philology. She has been Vice Dean of Foreign Relations of the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication. She is Director of the Culture Service of the University of Valencia since January 2021. She teaches literature and audiovisual arts and is a specialist in the relationships between literature and image (cinema and comics) from an intercultural and gender perspective. Since 2019, he has been part of the Chair of Comic Studies and the Comics Classroom at the University of Valencia.

She has published numerous articles in magazines in Spain and France and coordinated the issue of the journal Quaderns de Filologia: La ciencia-ficción en los discursos culturales y medios de expresión contemporáneos (2009) and the issue of Synergies Espagne magazine: “El cómic francófono en el entredós.” 2020. Among his articles published in magazines, the following stand out: “Los lugares-Sarajevo en la narrativa gráfica de Enki Bilal” (Quaderns de Filologia, 2007); “Un espace en gidouille” (Europe, Paris, 2009); “Autoras contemporáneas en la historieta española. She has collaborated regularly in 2011 and 2012 in the Swiss magazine Les lettres et les arts.

Of the numerous book chapters we can highlight: “La bande dessinée au féminin” (2007), “Erotismo callado y amor velado en los cómics de la franco-iraní Marjane Satrapi” (2008) “Releyendo Persépolis de Marjane Satrapi” (2009) en Identity, Migration and Women’s Bodies as Sites of Knowledge and Transgression. «Autobiographie et autofiction illustrées dans les bandes dessinées: Marjane Satrapi, Johanna Schipper y Dominique Goblet» (2010) o “Mirarse y dibujarse. El autografema en el cómic femenino contemporáneo” (2015) en Me veo luego existo. Mujeres que representan, mujeres representadas del CSIC. Her line of research focuses on the study of comics and the main axes of analysis are French-speaking comics, the intermedia relationship with literature and the production of female comic authors from the seventies to the present.

She has participated in different research projects in literature, art and culture funded by the DGICYT, three of them on the emergence and diversity of writing and the representation of women. She has participated in European projects such as Trans.Making, Tran.Arch, in the Prometeo Project “Arxiu Valencià de Disseny: Shaping the Future, Designing the Present, Rescuing the Past” and in 'Investigation on comics and graphic novels in the iberian cultural area' (iCOn-MICS) CA19119.

She was part of the research group "Hybrida: Cultural hybridizations and migrant identities." In this line of research on hybridization and interculturality in diaspora cinema, he has participated in numerous conferences in France, Spain, Germany, and the United States (Crossings, Frictions, Fusions (Los Angeles, 2012), and Brazil ("Cinema and Society" at the University of Brasilia (2013)). He currently directs the Krazykat Research Group-Comic.

She has organized international colloquiums, among which the following stand out: International colloquium on female-authored comics entitled: Literature and comics. Written drawings-written drawn: female visions (2007). In March 2008, he organized a comic and literature seminar at the University of Valencia taught by Thierry Groensteen. In December 2009, he co-directed the colloquium: First days of graphic narrative. He has participated in numerous conferences. Among them: Crossings, Frictions, Fusions at California State University Long Beach (USA).

She has directed numerous research projects, Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree on intercultural topics. She is an article editor for the journals Quaderns de Filologia of the Universitat de València, Revista de literature of the University of Chile and Çédille of the AFUE.

She is a member of international research networks, collaborating with teams from the Universities of Bordeaux, Limoges, Picardy and Free Brussels, on topics related to interculturality and cultures in displacement. She has been a guest researcher at numerous universities, highlighting her stays at the universities of Paris-Sorbonne and at the CIBDI of Angoulême. She teaches film in the Master of Creative and Humanistic Translation, in the Master of Research in Languages ​​and Literatures and in the Degree in Modern Languages ​​and their Literatures. She co-directs a Comic Translation Diploma and the subject “Gender and identity in comics” in her own master’s degree “Comic and Education”.
