Biography

Ana Giménez Calpe holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication (2004) and German Philology (2011) and a PhD in Languages and Literatures (2014) from the Universitat de València. At the same university she has been a lecturer in German literature since 2016 in the Department of English and German Philology. She has previously worked at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, in the United States, and at the University of Granada. Her research interests focus on the dramatic work of Elfriede Jelinek, intercultural literature, gender studies and the analysis of violence and power relations in literature. She has published several articles and book chapters, as well as the monograph Von Prinzessinnen zu Königinnen. Performative (Ohn)macht in ‘Der Tod und das Mädchen III (Rosamunde)’ and ‘Ulrike Maria Stuart’ by Elfriede Jelinek (Peter Lang, 2019). She is currently a member of the research group “Nuevos paradigmas en la representación cultural de los espacios de violencia de masas: mirar y contar el siglo XX desde el XXI" (PID2022-140003NB-I00), as well as of the teaching innovation group INNOVA-TEA. She is the editor of the journal Quaderns de Filologia.
