Biography

Alejandro José Laguna Sanz holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de València and is an Assistant Professor (Professor Ajudant Doctor) at the ETSE of the Universitat de València. His pre-doctoral training focused on the modeling, identification, and control of dynamic and biological systems, with an emphasis on Biomedical Engineering, specializing in the analysis of uncertainty and intra-patient variability using continuous monitoring data. This experience also established him as an international researcher through contracts and projects at centers such as Harvard University, University of California Santa Barbara and the CIBER, where he applied his expertise to develop prediction and control systems (e.g., artificial pancreas, glucagon dosing algorithms). His current role at the ETSE is as an expert in Biomedical Engineering and Computational Analysis with a solid research progression, recognized with two Research Six-Year Periods (Sexenios de Investigación) by ANECA.
