Biography

Dr. C. Azorín is postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Analytical Chemistry of the University of Valencia (UV). He holds a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry (2019, Extraord. Award), a M.Sc. degree in Experimental Techniques in Chemistry (2020), as well as a PhD in Chemistry (2024).

RESEARCH/ His work has been devoted towards (i) the development of analytical methodologies based on microextraction for the analysis of complex matrices and (ii) the miniaturization and adaptation of microextraction techniques for the simultaneous analysis of a large number of complex and low-volume samples. His work has resulted in significant advances in the optimization of analytical techniques, improving sensitivity and efficiency in the analysis of complex and low volume samples. His work has been placed at the research group for the analytical control of cosmetic products (GICAPC) at the UV (Spain). He has also performed a research stay (3 months) at the university of Porto (Portugal). He has co-authored 10 scientific articles published in high impact journals and has collaborated in the publication of 1 book chapter in an international book published by Elsevier. In addition, he has actively participated in 17 communications in national and international scientific conferences, of which 11 were oral presentations and 6 posters, being presenting author in 7 of them. He has also contributed as a member of working teams in 2 funded projects, in national and regional calls.

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER / Concerning work with industry, he has participated in 6 contracts / technical assistances for companies in the cosmetic sector for the transfer of analytical technologies, helping to improve the efficacy, quality and safety of products through the development and application of advanced methods for the determination of substances of interest.

TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT/ Throughout his career, he has taught 101 hours of teaching in several subjects of the Degree in Chemistry at the UV, contributing to the training of new professionals in the area of Analytical Chemistry. He has also supervised internship students and final degree and master's degree theses.

OTHER RELEVANT ACTIONS / He has participated in the review of articles for high impact journals, such as Microchemical Journal and Advances in Sample Preparation, contributing to the evaluation of the scientific quality in his field.
