Biography

Dr. Anna Arnal Gómez has been a professor at the University of Valencia since 2008 and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Valencia.

She has been a physiotherapist since 2002, primarily practicing respiratory physiotherapy and neurological physiotherapy. Her work at the Mislata Hospital-Manises Hospital is noteworthy, where she worked in the Pediatric Neurorehabilitation Unit at Mislata Hospital and in the Brain Injury Unit at the Chronic and Long-Stay Hospital (HACLE). She also worked at Air Liquide Medicinal, treating people with respiratory pathologies.

Her clinical and professional work have always gone hand in hand with her training and research, hence her achievements in both her Diploma in Speech Therapy and her Diploma in Hearing and Language Teaching. Also worth highlighting is the Master's Degree in
Physiotherapy in Aging Processes: Socio-Health Strategies from the University of Valencia. After completing the Master's Degree, she continued with a PhD in Aging Processes and obtained her PhD in 2017 with the bibliometric doctoral thesis "Production and Scientific Impact of Global Research on Physiotherapy in Aging Processes (1990-2014)."

She has 44 research publications, 29 in JCR, 11 in SJR, and 4 indexed in other bibliographic databases, as well as presentations at numerous international and national conferences, all related to neurological or respiratory pathologies. She is currently the principal investigator of one research project publicly called for by the regional government and has collaborated on five different research projects awarded through public calls. She has been recognized for a six-year research period (2015-2021).

Her teaching has focused primarily on the subjects of "Disorders and Therapeutic Approaches of the Nervous System," "Respiratory Physiotherapy," and "Physiotherapy in Speech Therapy." She has also supervised 29 undergraduate theses, 8 master's theses, and 1 doctoral thesis.

She has participated in 15 Educational Innovation Projects and has also participated in management tasks on various committees. Since February 2021, she has served as Secretary of the Department of Physiotherapy.
