Biography

Dr. Amelia R. Granda-Piñán is currently a Professor in the Department of Didactics and School Organization at the University of Valencia. She is a certified teacher specialized in Foreign Language (English) and holds a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology. She also holds a Master’s in University Research and another in School Leadership and Management. She earned her Ph.D. in Education with International Mention in 2016. Additionally, she is a career civil servant in the Spanish primary teaching corps, currently on leave.

With 16 years of experience as a teacher in formal non-university education, she has served as a classroom tutor and an English specialist in various semi-private and public schools in the Valencian Community, working in both Early Childhood Education and Primary Education. She has also held administrative positions as Secretary, Head of Studies, and School Director. Furthermore, she worked as a teacher training advisor for the CEFIRE network for seven years. She has participated in several European projects (Comenius, Erasmus, eTwinning, Erasmus+), coordinating some of them at the international level. Additionally, she has been involved in the creation and development of the "Aules Transformadores d'Espais i Metodologies Educatives" initiative by the Regional Department of Education.

Her research focuses on educational innovation and improving learning environments, with a particular emphasis on inclusion and adapting to 21st-century challenges. Her work explores the implementation of innovative learning environments as a response to contemporary educational challenges, highlighting the importance of flexible spaces and student-centered pedagogical practices. She is co-author of articles such as "Innovative Learning Environments as a Response to the Educational Challenges of the 21st Century" and "The Classroom of the Future: An Opportunity for Developing Teachers' Digital Competence."

She collaborates with the EDI (Digital Education and Innovation) Research Group at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and is a Partner Investigator to the ILESE (Innovative Learning Environments and Student Experience: The Evidence) project at the University of Melbourne, Australia.
