Manuel Asensi Pérez is Professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature. He has 
been visiting professor at several universities in the U.S, Latin America and Europe. His fields of expertise are literary theory, the relations between cinema and literature, and the field of Lacanian psychoanalysis. 
Among his most important books include Theoría de la lectura. For a paradoxical critique (1987), Literary theory and deconstruction (1992), Philippe Sollers, Tel Quel and the genesis of French post-structuralism (2004), Criticism and sabotage (2013), the latter book deserving of several monographs in journals such as Anthropos (2014) and Quaderns de Filologia (2021) and which inaugurated a new critical 
modality. The last book published is Lacan para multitudes o por qué no se puede vivir sin Lacan (2023), a book that is already in its second edition.
