Professor of Philosophy of Law and Political Philosophy at the University of Valencia. He is part of the Research Group “Human Rights and Globalization” of the University of Valencia. He is currently Director of the Department of Philosophy of Law and Politics of said university. He has been a member of the Bioethics Steering Committee of the Council of Europe, the Spanish Bioethics Committee, the Healthcare Bioethics Committee of the La Fe Health Department (Valencia) and president of the Bioethics Committee of the Valencian Community. He was also a Substitute Magistrate of the Provincial Court of Valencia and Director of the Menéndez Pelayo International University in the Valencian Community, as well as General Director of Scientific Policy of the Generalitat Valenciana. He has been a visiting researcher at the Universities of Berkeley, Princeton, Boston, Cambridge and Palermo. He has participated in numerous research projects funded in competitive calls by the Generalitat Valenciana and the Government of Spain. He has collaborated in the organization and direction of more than 30 national and international seminars, conferences and scientific meetings, and has given more than 250 conferences or invited presentations. He has supervised eleven doctoral theses. Professor of Bioethics in Masters at Spanish and foreign universities. Member of the scientific committee of the magazines Persona y Derecho, Cuadernos de Bioética, Brazilian Journal of Bioethics, Latin American Journal of Bioethics, Journal of Law and Human Genome, among others. External evaluator of various specialized scientific journals such as: Anuario de Filosofía del Derecho, CEFD, Teoría y Derecho, Cuadernos de Bioética, Persona y Bioética, Ars Interpretandi, Scio, Prudentia Iuris, Pensamiento Actual, Dikaion, Eunomia, Boletín de la Real Sociedad Española de Historia Natural, SCIO, Frontiers in Genetics, Prudentia Iuris, among others.SusThe main areas of research are: Human rights, Political ecology, AI and human development, Bioethics and Biolaw. Its main line of scientific production has to do with bioethics and Biolaw from the perspective of human vulnerability and human rights. His latest books are: “Rights at the end of life” (REUS, 2023) and “Making babies for others?” (Word, 2025) with Lukas Romero-Wenz.
