Summary of CV. Rafael Boluda Hernández began his university studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Valencia (UV) where he graduated with a degree in 1981. In 1988 he received his PhD in Pharmacy from the UV. The research activity carried out is framed in the following research areas: Environmental Sciences, Soil Sciences, Agriculture, Public and Environmental Health, Ecotoxicology, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biodiversity, Geochemistry and Waste Utilization. Collaborator, organizer or member of the scientific committee of national and international congresses, meetings or scientific conferences; highlighting: Secretary of International Course Overview of substances involved in the Mediterranean region, Workshop on soil degradation, desertification and chemical time bombs in the Mediterranean Region (UIMP, 1992); member of the Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee of the 2nd MGPR (Mediterranean Group for Pesticide Research) International Symposium of Pesticides in Food and the Environment (Valencia, 2001); and President of the Organizing Committee of the 2nd National Meeting of the Spanish Network of Composting (Valencia, 2006). Evaluator of research, development and research projects (R+D+i) at the ANEP (National Agency for Evaluation and Prospective of the State Secretariat for Research of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain) and the AGAUR (Agency for Management of University and Research Grants of the Catalonia). He has been required as a reviewer of numerous scientific articles by different international journals of the prestigious Elsevier and Springer publishing houses. He has made several stays in international research centres as Guest Professor, highlighting a stay at the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences of Soil and Water Department of the University of Florida in the United States (1995), two more at the Luiz de Queiroz Higher School of Agriculture at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil (1993 and 1996) and another at the Faculdade de Zootecnia e Engenharia de Alimentos de la USP (1997). From 1996 to 2003 he was a researcher at the Desertification Research Centre (CIDE) of the CSIC-UV-GVA. To date, he has participated in forty-three R+D+I projects, contracts or grants with Spanish or European public or private administrations or entities, in eighteen of which he has been the Principal Researcher. There have been more than 175 publications, scientific and technical documents, of which 56 are in scientific journals with a high international impact index, as well as more than 145 communications presented at different national and international congresses. The H-index in the Web of Science is 26. He has carried out more than 20 contracts with companies and administrations related to the transfer of research results. With a total funding of more than ¿ 600,000. In 14 of these he has been the principal investigator or coordinator of the project. On the other hand, since 1983 he has taught different disciplines: geology, soil science, agricultural chemistry, assessment of environmental pollution, research initiation, raw materials production, and conservation and management of natural resources to the Faculties of Pharmacy, Biology and Chemistry of the UV. Between 1983 and 1990 he was assistant professor; between 1990 and 2007 he was Associate Professor, and since 2007, he holds the position of Full Professor. In addition, he has been professor of different Masters at the Menendez Pelayo International University (UIMP), Miguel Hernández University and UV. Since 2014 he is director of the Master in Waste Management, Treatment and Utilization by the UV. He has also participated in different national and international Training Programs for graduates and postgraduates (Intercampus and Erasmus Programs), taking charge of students or researchers from several nationalities (France, Italy, Switzerland, Morocco, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico or Peru). He has been directed numerous Master's Degree Final Projects, Final Degree Projects and Bachelor's Degree Final Projects. It is also worth mentioning the intense participation in the training of research staff with the direction of ten Doctoral Theses. Since 2003 he directs the Soils, Wastes and Environment Research Unit of the Plant Biology Department of the UV.
