Antonio Briz is a professor of Spanish Language in the Department of Spanish Philology of the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication of the University of Valencia (Spain), as well as director of the research group Val.Es.Co. His teaching activity focuses, above all, on syntax, Spanish pragmatics and colloquial Spanish. In postgraduate studies, he teaches courses at several Spanish and foreign universities on the aforementioned topics, as well as linguistic advice and expertise. Participates in training programs for teachers of Spanish as a foreign language (E/LE). In relation to this area of Spanish teaching, he is director of the online diploma of“Training of teachers of Spanish as a foreign language”, title from the University of Valencia and co-director of the “E/LE Forum” at the aforementioned university. To date, he has been a representative of SICELE on behalf of the University of Valencia. He has supervised 32 doctoral theses.

He was a founding partner of the company spin-off Tecnolingüística S.L., created in 2008 with the aim of transferring linguistic research to society: rhetoric and public speaking courses, linguistic expertise, specialized translations, transcriptions, labeling...
