Biography

Mònica Bru Cantero graduated in 2023 from the degree in English Studies with a Minor in Hispanic Studies, from the University of València, a degree for which she received the Extraordinary End of Degree Award from the UV and the Academic Excellence Award from the Generalitat Valenciana. In her last year of the degree (2022-2023), she received the Collaboration Scholarship from the Ministry of Education of the Government of Spain. The following year, she completed the Masters of Advanced English Studies (2023-2024) and enjoyed the Research Collaboration Scholarship from the University of València.

Since December 2025, she has been a Research Staff in Training at the Department of English and German Philology after obtaining the Training Aid for University Teachers (FPU) from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

In addition, she is a member of the research group LÈNA (North American Ethnic Literatures in a Global Context), in which her research focuses on contemporary American theater and climate change with an ecocritical and decolonial perspective. She also collaborates in the consolidated educational innovation group NAPCED: New applications of Critical Pedagogy to Digital Education in Literature and Audiovisual Culture (GCID23_2580121). Her research interests include 20th and 21st century Anglophone theater, humor, the intersection between precariousness and environmental injustice, and their resistance.
