Biography

Diana Burychka obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Valencia (UV) in 2016. She is awarded the Research Collaboration grant with the Department of Social Psychology (2015) and at this same university she obtained the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology (2018). Subsequently, she complements her studies with the Specialization Master in Integrative Cognitive Psychotherapy of the AIGLÉ Foundation (2022).
In July 2023, she earned her PhD in Psychology with the qualification of Excellent Cum Laude and International Mention with the thesis “Towards positive body image: the protective role of body compassion against body shame and the risk of eating disorders" under the direction of Dr. Rosa Baños and Dr. Marta Miragall.
She is a member of the research group I-PSI-TEC since 2017 and, to date, she has participated as a researcher in research projects funded by national institutions and the European Union.
Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher in the European project RECONNECTED (no. 101081020). Her research focuses on developing digital intervention tools that address mental health literacy, social participation and resilience.
Her main line of research focuses on body image and the use of virtual reality in clinical psychology, especially, the assessment and treatment of body image disturbances associated with eating disorders and the promotion of positive body image.
