Biography

Assistant Professor in the area of Physical Geography in the Department of Geography at the University of Valencia. My work focuses on applying remote sensing to monitor and analyse environmental issues, with a particular interest in coastal areas. In recent years, my research has focused on the morphological characterization of beaches and dunes and the monitoring of their changes, analysing the erosion processes associated with storms and human interventions. The aim is to provide data that allow for the assessment of the socio-economic and environmental consequences of these morphological changes, offering insights that help improve management and adaptation to new climatic scenarios. I hold a PhD in Geomatics Engineering with the thesis “Beach morphology and its dynamism from remote sensing for coastal management support”, developed within the Geo-Environmental Cartography and Remote Sensing group in collaboration with researchers from the Institute for Research on Integrated Coastal Zone Management (IGIC) at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. I conducted part of my research abroad, including visits to the University of Algarve in Portugal and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bordeaux and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in France.

Main interests: Coastal dynamics, GIS and remote sensing, coastal geomorphology, ICZM (Integrated Coastal Zone Management).
