Biography
David Castelló-Lurbe Lurbe is Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Physics at University of Valencia (UV) and member of the Laboratory of Fiber Optics (LFO). He received the Ph.D. degree in Physics from UV in 2014. He joined Brussels Photonics Laboratories at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2015, where he was awarded a Research Flanders Foundation (FWO) senior postdoctoral fellowship in 2019. In 2022, he joined LFO as a María Zambrano Distinguished Researcher. His research focuses on nonlinear optics in guiding media. His most important contributions to this field are a theory accounting for graphene's nonlinear response in on-chip waveguides, the derivation of a general method for measuring the soliton number, and the prediction of coherent supercontinuum generation in the long pulse regime due to dispersive nonlinearities.
