Cinta Gallent-Torres is an assistant professor (profesora ayudante doctor) in the Department of French and Italian Philology.

She holds a PhD in Educational Intervention from the Universitat de València (2016) and a PhD in Education from the Universitat de les Illes Balears (2025) (international mention); she holds a degree in French Philology (Universitat de València, 2013) and a degree in Translation and Interpreting (Universitat Jaume I, 2002). She also completed a Master of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Connecticut (UConn, 2005).

She has taught at the University of Connecticut, the College of Continuing Studies, Université Bourgogne Europe, and various Spanish universities, both public and private. She also regularly takes part in national and international teacher training activities organized by institutions such as the Karolinska Institutet, the Universidad Tecnológica del Uruguay, the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Universidad Nacional Agraria de la Selva, and the Universidad César Vallejo, among others. In the field of language education, she has also collaborated with the CEFIRE, various Official Language Schools (Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas), and the Language Centre of the Universitat de València.

He carried out research stays at the Université Bourgogne Europe, the University of Stockholm, and the Instituto Interuniversitario López Piñero de Estudios Históricos y Sociales sobre Ciencia, Tecnología, Medicina y Medio Ambiente, at its branch at the Universitat Jaume I (IILP-UJI). 

Her commitment to teaching and language training has also extended into volunteer work, through which she has taken part in various teaching programs in Spain, Ireland, the United States and Sweden, countries where she has spent extended academic periods. In Sweden, she gained her most recent experience at the Språkstudion Language Learning Resource Center (https://go.uv.es/cHn7tZ2), where she served as language coordinator (French and Catalan).

She has taken part in 9 teaching innovation projects (4 of them as principal investigator), and in two nationally funded research projects: IAPOST (ref. RTI2018-098314-B-I00) and IA-FIP (PID2022-141031NB-I00), both as a member of the research team.

She currently coordinates the Ibero-American Network for Digital Ethics and Educational AI (REDIE), within the framework of the Ibero-American Programme of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED) (2026-2029).

During the 2025-2026 academic year, she directed the University Microcredential in AI and Digital Technologies for Language Teaching and Learning (https://go.uv.es/NAvY27D), and the University Microcredential in Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI): Training Change Agents to Strengthen Trust in Science (https://go.uv.es/Mc075Qu), both offered by the University of Valencia-Fundació ADEIT.

Her research focuses on the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence in teaching and research, covering topics such as AIgiarism, academic dishonesty, research fraud and predatory and hijacked journals. She also works on emerging technologies, second language teaching and learning, the impact of AI in this area, and the translator's shared agency. Likewise, she researches the development of critical learning approaches around artificial intelligence (Critical Artificial Intelligence Learning, CAIL).

In 2026, she was selected, among 74 experts from Europe and Asia, to join the ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory, a competitive international project aimed at developing a White Paper for academic leaders in higher education institutions, with the goal of promoting the ethical, responsible, and equitable use of AI in higher education (https://asef.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/ASEFInnoLab7-Conference_Participants-Resource-Persons-Booklet.pdf).

She is a member of the research groups TeLL-Me (Teaching and Learning Languages in Multilingual Education), GRIAC (Grup de Recerca en Integritat Acadèmica i Científica), IGALA (Interdisciplinary Group on Active Learning and Assessment), and GIIIDEPSI (Grupo Interdisciplinario de Investigación en Inclusión, Intervención, Diversidad Educativa y Psicología), based in the Dominican Republic.

She is also a member of the Institut de Recherche et d'Action sur la Fraude et le Plagiat Académiques (IRAFPA, Switzerland), the Ibero-American Research Network on Academic Integrity (Red-IA), and the Forthem Alliance.

She recently received the Idees Motivem 2026 Award, in the Arts and Humanities category, for coordinating the Valentag team (https://anar.uv.es/5dRaf9e).

Since May 2024, she has been a member of the UV Open Science Committee, responsible for developing institutional policy and adapting academic evaluation to the COARA commitments (https://go.uv.es/RB3nRXx).

She was appointed Vice Dean of Culture, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication (FFTiC) in June 2026, a position she currently holds.

At present, she combines research, teaching and knowledge transfer with supporting university centers and services in implementing good academic integrity practices, particularly in Latin America.
