Biography

Joan Climent Oliver has been an Assistant Professor (Profesor Ayudante Doctor) in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Universitat de València (UV) since September 2024. He obtained his PhD in Physical Sciences (UV, 2020) with the thesis “Radio and infrared interferometry of stellar and substellar objects”, and holds an MSc in Astrophysics (Universidad de La Laguna, 2016) and a BSc in Physics (UV, 2014).

His research focuses on the astrophysics of stellar and substellar objects, particularly radio emission and Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), with notable contributions to the study of magnetospheres of ultracool dwarfs and phenomena such as radiation belts. He has participated in competitive national and international projects and has published in high-impact journals, including papers in Science and Astronomy & Astrophysics.

In teaching, he has delivered courses in mathematics and physics at undergraduate and master’s level at UV and at the Universidad Internacional de Valencia (VIU), and has supervised several Master’s theses.
