Biography

Vice Rector of Communication, Participation and Transparency. He was also Vice Dean of Communication and Innovation at the School of Philology, Translation and Interpreting. He holds degrees in Hispanic Philology (Spanish Literature) and Audiovisual Communication, and a PhD (with highest honors) from the University of Valencia. He is currently a tenured professor in the Department of Language Theory and Communication Sciences at the University of Valencia. He has also taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to audiovisual media at universities such as Jaume I University of Castellón (UJI), la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya(UOC), the Valencian International University (VIU), Cardenal Herrera University (CEU), and the University of Virginia (USA).

He has been a researcher and visiting professor at other universities, including Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) with a BEST grant, Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna (Italy) with a Castillejo grant, Hebrew University of Israel, Roehampton University in London, Glasgow University (UK), Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (Romania), and Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (Germany).

He has worked as a journalist, producer, editor, and news anchor for 25 years in various audiovisual media outlets, such as Antena 3 Televisión, Canal 9 RTVV, and À Punt. He also regularly contributes opinion pieces to publications such as elDiario.es and Cartelera Turia.

His main research interests are: the development of podcasts within the communication landscape, public television¿especially regarding the protection of news programs within the European context¿the new possibilities offered by multiplatform and transmedia technologies in this field, and the communicative implications related to democratic memory. He is the Principal Investigator of the Research Group 'The podcast as an emerging journalistic phenomenon, Innovation in radio narratives and formats' (INNOCAST) with reference GIUV2022-528.
