Biography

CRISTINA NAVARRO ROBLES is a predoctoral researcher in the Department of Comparative Education and History of Education at the University of Valencia. She graduated in Pedagogy in 2019 from the University of Valencia, with an Extraordinary Final Degree Award. She obtained a Master's degree in Gender and Equality Policies from the University of Valencia in 2021. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies in the Doctoral Program in Education at the same university. Her main research focus is on the History of Women’s Education, specifically in Spain at the end of the 19th century, from a cultural perspective.

She has published articles on this topic in journals such as Pasado y Memoria: Revista de Historia Contemporánea, with the title "Women’s Education in the Discourses of Sofía Tartilán and Matilde Cherner, in the journal ‘La Ilustración de la Mujer’ (1873-1877)", no. 29, pp. 185-208, 2024. She has also published in the journal Historia y Memoria de la Educación, the article "Women’s Education in the Democratic Sexennium. An Approach to the Discourses and Practices of Republicanism (1868-1874)." She has contributed to book chapters such as "An Approach to Education during the Democratic Sexennium (1868-1874) in Valencia" in Modos de entender, pensar y sentir el patrimonio histórico educativo (Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca, 2024), pp. 641-653.

She is also a member of societies related to the study of the history of education (SEDHE and Societat d'Història de l'Educació dels Països de Llengua Catalana).
