Ana Cros studied Physics in the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1990) and finished her PhD in Applied Physics in the University of Valencia (1994). Since 2011 she is Full Professor at the Department of Applied Physics of the University of Valencia and Director of the Institute of Materials Science. Her present interests point to the use of Scanning Probe Microscopy techniques, combined with optical excitation, for the characterization of the electrical properties of nanostructures. In the last two years we have developed at ICMUV a laboratory of advanced Scanning Probe Microscopy techniques that includes conductive AFM sensitive from pico to nano Ampère, and Kelvin Force Microscopy unde rvisible and  ultraviolet illumination. She has co-authored more than 100 international papers in the field of condensed matter physics and materials science.
