. In my Master's degree I was working on the stem cell differentiation in the laboratory of Dr. Osyczka, Jagiellonian University, Poland. During that period, I performed my first internship in the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), Italy, where I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Laura Cancedda on seizure susceptibility in rodent models. That was my first contact with experimental neuroscience that shaped my future scientific interest. Thus, just after finishing my Master's I move to Italy, first as an intern, and later as a PhD student under Dr. Cancedda supervision. Apart from my PhD thesis, I was involved in establishing the patent and protocol for 3-electrodes IUE. The interdisciplinary approach with technical and neurodevelopmental research was always a big part of my work and future plans. My PhD thesis concentrated role of Pcdh19 in rat's brain in the context of Epileptic Encephalopathy, Early Infantile, 9 (EIEE9). For the first time, I was able to address mosaic expression of Protocadherin 19 (Pcdh19) in excitatory pyramidal neurons that results in morphological deficits paired with behavioral impairments characteristic for EIEE9. I graduated with the highest mark and with multiple papers also in collaboration inside and outside the institute showing my collaborative nature and training/teaching skills. To continue characterization of the Pcdhs, in the earliest steps of the development I moved for my post doc to Dr. Alessandra Pierani lab (one of the leading researchers in the field of Cajal Retzius cells). My Post Doc project was granted by two foundations and focused on transcription factor-Dbx1 derived CRs and its role in regulation of the cell fate and Pcdhs. During my Post Doc I worked on mastering my IUE protocol skills by performing surgeries on E10-E11 embryos and identified high expression of Pcdhs in CRs and studied deeply early steps of brain development. During the Post Doc contract, to verify hypothesis on Dbx1 function in cell fate I was awarded a prestigious EMBO short internship in Dr. Malumbres lab, who is an expert in cell cycle. There, in Spanish National Cancer Research Center in Madrid I was learning the basis of cell cycle in the progenitor cells in vitro. Thanks to Talented Researcher Support Programme - the GenT I established my own research line in the University of Valencia. I am concentrating in particular on the function of adhesion molecules in controlling the activity of adult neural stem cells. Till date, I published 14 articles in Q1 category journals, 1 book chapter, and I participated and presented my results in over 25 international meetings, received international travel grants and trained/supervised researchers from many different countries.
