Biography

Elia Arrametapongsa is an ACIF 2025 predoctoral fellow (Conselleria d’Educació) at the University of Valencia. She is currently conducting her doctoral research under the supervision of Dr Sergio Maruenda Bataller (University of Valencia) and Prof Nuria Lorenzo-Dus (Polytechnic University of Valencia and Swansea University). Her thesis falls within the field of digital communication and focuses on the analysis of online interactions between offenders and victims in cases of gender-based violence.

She holds a BA in English Studies (2022) and a BA in Spanish Studies (2024) from the University of Valencia, as well as an MA in Linguistics (cum laude, 2024) from Leiden University. During the 2021–2022 academic year, she held a research collaboration grant in the Department of English and German Philology at the University of Valencia. In 2024, she was also awarded the “Aula de Verano Blas Cabrera” scholarship for initiation into research, teaching, and scientific innovation, granted by the Menéndez Pelayo International University.

Her research interests span several areas of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, with a particular focus on Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis in digital communication. She has also completed specialised training in Dialectology, Language Teaching, and Discourse Analysis.
