Ghaleb Fansa Saleh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Aleppo (Syria) and a PhD from the Universitat de València, where he has been a faculty member since 2017. His academic work is developed within the field of Physical Geography, focusing on the technical analysis of territorial dynamics and the behavior of water systems in the Mediterranean region.
Currently, his research focuses on the study of traditional water harvesting and management systems in arid and semi-arid environments, analyzing their functionality and resilience as climate adaptation models. This line of research is complemented by his work in applied hydrology and flood risk management, centered on the analysis of runoff processes and intense rainfall events in Mediterranean basins. Through the use of spatial analysis tools, his research examines the interaction between land-use changes and surface water response, linking the functioning of historical hydraulic infrastructures with the physical reality of the current territory.
