Fernando Mateo graduated as a Telecommunication Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain, in 2005, and earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the same university in 2012. His research interests include feature selection, machine learning algorithms, deep learning, anomaly detection, and data visualization. He has carried out research on learning algorithms applied to multidisciplinary problems in fields such as industry, medicine, microbiology, cybersecurity, and bioengineering. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at the University of Valencia (UV), a member of the Intelligent Data Analysis Laboratory (IDAL) research group, and Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering in Telecommunications (GIET). He has published numerous journal articles, book chapters, and conference contributions.
