Biography

Professor García-Alandete (Cullera, 1969) holds a degree in Psychology and Philosophy, a PhD in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Third Generation Psychological Therapies. His research interests focus on the psychology of meaning in life, the history of psychology and the interfaces between psychology, anthropology and philosophy. It has three six years of positively evaluated research (CNEAI-ANECA). He has been Principal Researcher of the "Psychology, person and meaning" group. He has participated in several R+D+I projects funded in public calls (Council, Ministry). He is the author or co-author of more than 100 articles published in national and international journals, five books, almost twenty book chapters and more than 50 contributions to congresses and conferences. He has supervised six doctoral theses and been a member of more than twenty tribunals. He has tutored dozens of bachelor's and master's theses, and has participated in numerous tribunals. He has tutored an FPU PhD student. Collaborator in various teaching innovation projects in the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy at the University of Valencia (UV). Reviewer of articles (n = 75) for research journals, both in the field of psychology and philosophy, most of which are indexed in Journal Citation Reports. In the field of academic management, he has held positions as PhD program coordinator (for two years) and head of second-cycle degree studies (Psicopedagogy; two years), he has been a member of research commissions, of the faculty board and of the Human Ethics and Research Committee (Commission of Ethics in Experimental Research) of the UV during the 2025-2026 academic year. He has also participated in scientific committees and organizers of national and international conferences and congresses. He is currently serving as the principal investigator on the research project “Meaning of Life, Self-Transcendence, and Well-Being in Older Adults: A Pilot Study with a Mixed-Methods Design and a Life-Span Approach” (2024–2026).
