Biography

Rafael García Gil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, specializing in Electricity, Electronics and Computer Science (1993), a Degree in Electronic Engineering (1995), and a PhD in Electronic Engineering (2002) from the University of Valencia (UV). He has worked as an engineer in a private company in the aerospace sector (1996-1998) and completed a two-year research stay (2000-2002) at CERN (Switzerland) through a FPI scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Education. He is currently (2009) an Associate Professor in the area of Electronic Technology within the Department of Electronic Engineering (DIE) at the same university. In this institution he has taught since 1998 in different subjects of both core, compulsory and optional nature, and his teaching is currently focused on the field of renewable energies and their conditioning.

He is a member of the Research Group "Laboratory of Industrial Electronics and Instrumentation" (LEII) within the DIE. His research has focused on four-quadrant power converters with high-frequency galvanic isolation, power inverters for grid connection, analog signal processing and, currently, the characterization of sensors and electronic instrumentation. As a summary of his scientific production, it should be noted that he is author of more than 40 publications in international journals, of which more than 35 are indexed with an impact index in the JCR(ISI). In addition, he is the author of more than 80 articles in national and international conferences. He has participated in several publicly funded research projects and industry research contracts, as well as in several funded educational innovation projects.

He has five accredited five-year teaching periods and four recognized research activity periods. He has been actively engaged in academic management, having been Secretary of the School of Engineering of the UV (ETSE-UV) between March 2018 and March 2021.
