Begoña Giner is Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of Valencia since 1993  and holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. She has been a visiting professor at several universities: Rutgers and North Carolina at Chapel Hill (EEUU), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Antwerp (Belgium), Strathclyde and Glasgow (UK), Rosario (Argentina). She has held several positions at the European Accounting Association (EAA), including President, Chair of the Scientific Committee and Chair of the Stakeholder Reporting Committee. She is a member of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board and in the past was a member of the EFRAG TEG and of the IFRS Council. She has also served on the Public Interest Oversight Board (PIOB).
She has published numerous articles in leading accounting and business journals, both in the financial and sustainability fields, and has participated as faculty member in major accounting regulation research projects financed by the European Commission.
