Biography

Dr. Francisco Valverde is a project leader at Instituto Tecnológico de Informática (ITI, www.iti.upv.es). He is also a teaching assistant at the Informatics Department of the Universitat de València (UV, www.uv.es). He holds a Master in Computer Software Engineering (2007) and a PhD in Computer Science (2010) both from the Universitat Politécnica de València (UPV, www.upv.es)

From 2010 to 2016, he was a R&D project leader at the Research Center on Software Production Methods (PROS, www.pros.upv.es) and Head of the Conceptual Modelling of Information Systems group (from 2015 to 2016). He participated in more than 10 R&D projects from both national and international calls in the areas of Software Engineering, Enterprise Modelling and Big Data (CAAS, CAP, OPEES, MyMobileWeb, ORCA, IDEO). He was also founding partner and software team leader of GEMBiosoft, a software development spin-off in the area of bioinformatics and genomic Big Data. He has published more than 30 articles in relevant conferences and journals from the software engineering, bioinformatics and model-driven development domains. He also supervised one PhD, two bachelor and two master theses.

He has been working at ITI since 2016 at the SERVID department where he has been involved in R&D projects in the areas of Industry 4.0 (Transforming Transport) and Big Data for Healthcare (IMI2 call).
