Fitxa persona

I am a descriptive linguist and language documenter working on evidentiality and epistemicity. My work focuses on how epistemic markers are used in natural discourse, and how epistemic and evidential meanings are expressed in the languages of the world. I gained my PhD from SOAS, University of London in 2017. Before joining UV I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Stockholm, Sweden.

My research interests include semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, language endangerment and methodology of linguistic fieldwork. I am also interested in mimetic language, multilingualism and language mapping. I am a co-director of Language Landscape, an organisation dedicated to raising awareness of linguistic diversity.
