Biography

My research activity is focused on the study of new physics beyond the Standard Model and includes several aspects such as the construction of predictive models that correctly describe the masses and mixing of fermions and that can be tested in different experiments, for example, searches for new particles and exotic processes such as mu -> e gamma. In my PhD thesis, I studied symmetries that can predict the characteristics of lepton mixing and explain why lepton mixing and quark mixing are very different. In addition, I study different mechanisms for generating neutrino masses -- particles that interact only weakly and have no mass in the Standard Model. I am also exploring mechanisms that generate the asymmetry between matter and antimatter in the Universe and possible relationships with other phenomena such as, for example, neutrino masses. The study of aspects of Dark Matter, another component of the Universe, is also part of my research.

I have teaching experience in undergraduate courses (Electromagnetism, Quantum Physics I, Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Physics Laboratory) and master courses (Quantum Field Theory and Electroweak Interactions). Additionally, I have taught advanced courses for doctoral students at international schools. I have supervised 3 bachelor, 5 master and 2 doctoral theses.

From 2020 to 2025 I was a Ramón y Cajal Researcher. Since 2022 I am PI of a Santiago Grisolía grant funded by the Generalitat Valenciana. I am a referee for more than ten scientific journals, including PRL, and three international scientific agencies. I was named "outstanding/distinguished referee" in 2013 and 2017 by PLB, in 2016 by NPB, in 2018 and 2022 by EPJC and in 2019 by the American Physical Society. In addition, I am a member of the European network ASYMMETRY.

Additional information about my research activities: 44 published articles, more than 4000 citations, h-index of 32 and more than 55 talks at conferences and workshops, especially international ones.
