Biography

Since 2008, Inmaculada Fajardo has been a faculty member in Developmental and Educational Psychology at the University of Valencia, where she is now a Full Professor. She earned her PhD in Psychology from the University of Granada after a predoctoral fellowship at Egokituz (University of the Basque Country), followed by a postdoctoral position at the University of Manchester. She joined the University of Valencia as part of the Atypical group within its Reading Research Unit.

Her research focuses on reading difficulties in individuals with developmental disorders and disabilities, including Intellectual Disability, Autism, and Hearing Impairment. She currently leads a national AEI-funded project on early reading in preschoolers with these conditions and has co-led projects under the BIOMED and AICO programs. She also collaborates on EU-funded initiatives like AANDI (neurodiversity and ed-tech) and MultiplEYE (eye-tracking and NLP in reading).

Fajardo has held research stays at institutions in the UK, France, Canada, and Italy. She serves on the PhD committee for 'Reading and Comprehension' at Valencia, coordinates SIG15 (Special Educational Needs) for EARLI, and is part of the BMCS Doctoral Program at the University of Padova.
