Biography

Jordi Revert holds a PhD Cum Laude in Communication and Interculturality from the Universitat de València (UV) with a doctoral thesis on the intermediality between comics and cinema in the digital era. He also holds a Master's Degree in Communication, Interculturality and European Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Audiovisual Communication and Journalism from the same center, where he currently teaches as a professor of Audiovisual Communication.

He has also taught Audiovisual Communication at the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) and at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). He is the author of numerous articles in cinematographic and scientific media and of several chapters in collective books in prestigious publishing houses, as well as solo author of the books Paul Verhoeven (Cátedra, 2016), En busca de lo real: 50 documentales esenciales (Editorial UOC, 2017) and Cine y cómic (Cátedra, 2023). He was a member of the Editorial Board of L'Atalante. Revista de estudios cinematográficos, a publication of which he was director between 2015 and 2016. His main lines of research focus on documentary film and the intermediality between cinema and comics. He treasures long experience as an editor, writer and collaborator in cultural and film magazines (LaButaca.net, Miradas de cine, Détour, etc.).
