Jordi Giner-Monfort holds a degree in Sociology and a PhD in Social Sciences. His research career has focused on migration studies, with particular attention to British migration and return migration processes to the United Kingdom. He has participated in a variety of national and international research projects and contracts, contributing to the analysis of mobility dynamics and their social implications in transnational contexts. He has authored around sixty publications, including journal articles, book chapters, and monographs, mainly focused on international migration, residential mobility, and transnational ties. His work has been published in journals such as Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, European Urban and Regional Studies, Population, Space and Place, REIS, Papers, and RIS. He has held research visits at prestigious institutions, including Columbia University (United States), the Institute for Research into Superdiversity, and the School of Social Policy at the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom). He has also presented his research at approximately forty national and international conferences, including IMISCOE, AIMIE, FES, and the Spanish Congress on Migrations, among others. In recent years, he has expanded his research interests to the field of sociology and comics, exploring the contributions of graphic narratives and empirical studies conducted during the first half of the twentieth century to sociological knowledge and methodological innovation. Within this line of research, he has published in journals such as The Comics Grid, Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics, and Arbor. He has also participated in conferences including the Comics Studies Society Annual Conference, Unicomic, and Teaching with Comics, while introducing comics-related research to broader sociology forums such as the FES Congress and the Congress of the Valencian Sociological Association (Associació Valenciana de Sociologia).
