Mª José Jordán Díaz-Roncero has a PhD in Law from the University of Valencia, her doctoral thesis on the use of videoconferencing in criminal proceedings directed by the Pfora. Dr. Silvia Barona Vilar, received the highest qualification of excellent cum laude. She specializes in procedural law in the fields of especially vulnerable victims, mediation and restorative justice, and climate litigation. His professional career has been characterized by an intense and solid combination of professional practice of law, mediation, university teaching and legal research.

For more than a decade, from 2011 to 2024, she practiced law as a lawyer of the Illustrious Valencia Bar Association, developing her activity in multiple areas of law - criminal, civil, commercial, labor, contentious-administrative and family law - with special dedication to legal assistance to victims of violence against women and minors. Likewise, in her social commitment she was a lawyer on duty in different sections, including macro-causes and gender violence, and worked as a lawyer in specialized care resources for women victims of violence, such as the 24-hour Woman Center and the Aurora Program of the Requena City Council. At the same time, she worked as a mediator registered in the Registry of the Ministry of Justice in the civil, commercial, family and criminal fields.

Her research activity focuses mainly on violence against women, cyber violence, mediation and restorative justice, as well as climate litigation.  She has been a researcher in projects on the impact of gender violence in rural Valencia and has directed and managed various collaboration agreements between the Generalitat Valenciana and the University of Valencia in matters such as mediation, violence against women and rights.humans. She is the author of numerous scientific publications, including monographs and articles in prestigious publishers such as Tirant lo Blanch, Aranzadi or Atelir.

Committed to the transfer of knowledge and specialized training, she has directed and organized multiple courses and conferences aimed at personnel from the Administration of Justice, Victim Assistance Offices and professionals in the legal field, in addition to giving conferences and seminars at the national and international level on violence against women, victim protection, mediation, climate litigation and human rights. 

Her research career was recognized in 2017 with the award of the Legal Studies Prize of the Valencian Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation for her research on the legal classification of violence against women as a crime against humanity.

Currently, he focuses his work on university teaching and research at the University of Valencia, from where he continues to develop an academic and scientific line committed to the defense of fundamental rights and the protection of victims.
