Graduate in Philology (Anglo-Germanic Section, Double Specialty: German and English) from the University of Valencia (1985). He has conducted research stays at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (1988, 1994) and at the University of Hamburg (1989).
In 1985, he began his teaching career at the University of Valencia. Since 1990, he has been a Tenured Lecturer at the School of German Philology at UV. In his more than thirty years of teaching, he has taught courses in German linguistics, both diachronic and synchronic. Notable subjects include the History of the German Language, German Word Formation, German Morphology, and Contrastive German-Spanish Linguistics. Additionally, he has taught German Language courses from levels A1 to C1 for students in both Philology and Translation. In the field of German for specific purposes, he has taught courses such as German for Business and German for Tourism for several years. His recent contributions to the university community include the following: (1) Coordinator of the German Philology Department during several terms, the last from 2013 to 2016; (2) Erasmus and Exchange Program Coordinator from 1993 to 1999; (3) Specialist Professor for the University Entrance Examinations (PAU) at the University of Valencia for the German Subject since 2021; (4) Professor of the University Extension Courses at the University of Valencia (Nau Gran), German for Traveling I and German for Traveling II since 2021.
His main research areas are the History of the German Language, Contrastive German-Spanish Linguistics, and the Teaching of German as a Foreign Language.
He has participated in numerous research and educational innovation projects. Among the recent ones are: (1) Application of Dramatic Techniques in the Classroom (UV-SFPIE_GER16-417540), from 2016 to 2017, funded by the University of Valencia's Lifelong Learning Service and Educational Innovation Unit; Principal Investigator: Dr. Ana R. Calero Valera. (2) INNOVA-TEA (UV-SFPIE_GER17-587130), from 2017 to 2018, funded by the Lifelong Learning Service and Educational Innovation Unit of the University of Valencia; Principal Investigator: Dr. Ana Rosa Calero Valera; (3) INNOVA-TEA (UV-SFPIE_GER18-847340), from 2018 to 2019, funded by the Lifelong Learning Service and Educational Innovation Unit of the University of Valencia; Principal Investigator: Dr. Ana Rosa Calero Valera.
He has six recognized teaching quinquennia.
