Graduated in Mathematics and  PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Valencia, he began his research career in Mathematical Physics, focusing on the study of the motion of elementary particles within the framework of General Relativity.

Subsequently, his research has concentrated on mathematical optimization under uncertainty, with applications to portfolio management, location models, and human resources management. He is currently working on the design of decision-support systems for socially responsible investment, impact investing, and personnel selection.

His research, published in national and international journals, has been funded by several R&D projects of the Valencian Regional Government (Generalitat Valenciana) and the Spanish Ministries of Science and Technology and Education and Science.

He is a Full Professor at the University of Valencia and a Full Member of the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences and the Royal European Academy of Doctors.
