Biography

Sara Llopis-Mestre holds a PhD in Languages, Literatures and Cultures, and its Applications (Cum Laude, International Mention) from the Universitat de València. At the same institution, she graduated with honours in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation and completed a Master’s Degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation, specialising in Literary Translation. She is a predoctoral fellow (Atracció de Talent, 2021) at the Department of English and German, currently in her Postdoctoral Orientation Period, continuing her research on the translation and Francoist censorship of Anglo-American lesbian literature in Spain.

She is a member of the research group CiTrans (GIUV2013-012, UV) and collaborates with the research group TRACE (Universidad de León). She is part of the Interuniversity Institute of Applied Modern Languages of the Valencian Community (IULMA) and has undertaken research stays at international institutions such as the University of Edinburgh. She is co-director and editor of the academic journal EFIT: Estudis Filologics i de Traducció. Her research interests focus on the translation of lesbian literature, the intersection of translation and censorship in Spain, and the theoretical approaches of feminist and queer translation.
