Dr Serrano is Professor of Economic Analysis at the Universitat de València where he graduated in Economics in 1991 (with special honors) and received his PhD in 1998 (with special honors). He also obtained a degree in Monetary Economics at the Centre of Financial and Monetary Studies (CEMFI) in Madrid (1993). He has jointly published more than seventy books and more than sixty articles in Spanish as well as in international journals. Researcher in 16 R&D projects funded through competitive calls (including 7 from the National Research Plan and 3 projects from the European Commission), as well as in more than 60 non-competitive R&D contracts, agreements, or projects with public or private administrations or entities (being the principal investigator in more than 20 of them). Research fields: economic growth, human capital, labor market, economics of education, and regional economics.
