Biography

Lucía B. Palmero Jara is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Psychology at the University of Valencia. She obtained her degree in Psychology from the University of Valencia (2018), where she received the Extraordinary Award for Academic Excellence. She completed a Master’s degree in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Granada (2019) and earned her PhD in Psychology from the University of Murcia (2023), graduating cum laude, with International Mention and the Extraordinary Doctoral Award.

She is currently a member of the ATENLEC research group, where she conducts research in the field of cognitive neuroscience, with a particular interest in attention, memory, and reading processes. She has worked with electrophysiological measures and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques (TMS, tDCS, tACS). In addition, she is involved in research lines focused on the impact of circadian rhythms on cognitive performance and applied studies in simulated driving contexts, alongside experiments aimed at understanding basic cognitive processes. She collaborates with prestigious international research groups, including the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors (Dortmund, Germany). She is particularly committed to the principles of open science, as well as knowledge transfer and science communication.

Since 2019, she has taught undergraduate courses in the field of Basic Psychology at several universities in Spain. She has completed international research stays at the University of Basel (Switzerland) and Paris Lodron University of Salzburg (Austria), as well as a national research stay at the University of Murcia.

She has published articles in national and international JCR-indexed journals, as well as book chapters in the fields of cognitive neuroscience and experimental psychology. She has participated in several research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and is a member of the Spanish Society for Experimental Psychology (SEPEX).

Among her distinctions are the Award for Best Young Scientist granted by the Agency for Science and Technology of the Region of Murcia and the Séneca Foundation, as well as an international award in the young researchers category at the Neuromodulation Conference (City College of New York).
