Biography

María Hernández Guerrero is a social worker with extensive experience in managing public equality policies and direct intervention. Academically, she holds a diploma and degree in Social Work and is currently completing her Master's Thesis for the Official Master's Degree in Equality and Gender in the Public and Private Sectors at the Universitat Jaume I-UMH. Her professional profile stands out due to her status as a career civil servant in the Technical Corps of Social Action, Social and Health Services Administration, Social Work scale, and the Senior Technical Corps of Social Action of the Valencian Regional Government. Her experience in regional administration has been fundamental in the management of specialized resources, having held key management roles such as Head of the Gender Violence Prevention Service and Regional Coordinator of the Women's Centers Network. In these positions, she has led the design of protocols, the supervision of outpatient and residential centers, and inter-institutional coordination to ensure comprehensive, quality care for women who are victims of gender-based and sexist violence. In addition, she has a solid foundation in basic primary care social services, developed over more than a decade in various municipalities in the Valencia metropolitan area. She currently combines her teaching work at the Faculty of Social Sciences with intensive activity as a specialist trainer for public administration staff in the areas of equal opportunities, prevention of gender and sexual violence, and work-life balance and shared responsibility. Her career reflects a constant commitment to transforming inequalities and improving the institutional response to contemporary social needs, integrating the strategic vision of the regional administration with direct knowledge of community intervention.
