Biography

Marta Dubon Valls (Canet d'en Berenguer, Camp de Morvedre) holds a degree in Catalan Philology from the University of Valencia (2019-2023). During her final year of study, she received a collaboration grant from the Department of Catalan Philology, focusing on dialectal studies under the supervision of Professor Andreu Sentí. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she received the Academic Excellence Award and also the Extraordinary Undergraduate Award.

She then went on to study a Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teaching (2023-2024) and a Master's Degree in Specific Didactics Research, specializing in Language and Literature (2024-2025), at the same university. In the latter master's degree, she won the Xavier Gómez i Font award for the linguistic quality of her final master's thesis.

During the 2024-2025 academic year, she worked as a lecturer in the Department of Catalan Philology at the University of Valencia, and she has also worked as a lecturer in the Department of Language and Literature Teaching at the same university (2025-2026). She is currently a trainee researcher in the Department of Catalan Philology and at the Interuniversity Institute of Valencian Philology (IIFV) with a pre-doctoral contract within the University of Valencia's Talent Attraction program.

Her research, under the supervision of Jesús Jiménez and Ricard Herrero (Department of Catalan Philology) and Aina Reig (Department of Language and Literature Teaching), focuses on Valencian phonetics, particularly the study of the language's vowel system and, more specifically, open mid vowels. All of this work is also carried out with a view to its relationship with education, especially in terms of language teaching and learning processes.
