Gorka Marco-Velasco studied a Chemical Engineering degree in Universitat Jaume I (Castelló, Spain). During this time period, he got a Erasmus+ scolarship to study in the Centria University of Applied Sciences (Kokkola, Finland). After finishing his bachelor degree, Marco-Velasco obtained a Extraordinary End of Studies prize from Universitat Jaume I for having the best academic record of his promotion. Afterwards, he attained a master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universitat de València (València, Spain).
For his master's thesis, Marco-Velasco started his relationship with the MATS (Materials, Technology and Sustainability) research group in Universitat de València. The resulting master's thesis , named "USE OF IONIC LIQUIDS AND DEEP EUTECTIC SOLVENTS FOR THE PREPARATION OF POLYMER-BASED MEMBRANES FOR DECARBONISATION TECHNOLOGIES", was carried out in the framework of membrane technology and environmental applications and it gained the second prize in the I Edition of master's thesis awards from Cátedra AIMPLAS-UV. Also, his work has been presented in national and international congresses as a way to transfer the obtained know how.
