Biography

Maria Saiz-Raimundo is a professor in the Departament de Filologia Catalana at the Universitat de València. She holds a PhD in Catalan Philology from the Universitat de València, with the doctoral dissertation “Els senyals de l'amor: una exegesi de les metàfores morals del 'Llibre d'amic e amat'” (Excellent Cum Laude with International Mention and Honorary Mention in the Premi IEC de la Secció Històrico-Arqueològica Manuel Milà i Fontanals d'Història Literària, ad honorem Josep Massot i Muntaner). Her research has focused on the field of medieval literature, specifically on mysticism. In this line of research, she has published articles in specialized international journals and is the author of the book Els camins de l'amor. Una interpretació del Llibre d'amic e amat (Publicacions de la Universitat de València, 2025). She has undertaken research stays at the Raimundus-Lullus-Institut de Friburgo de Brisgovia, the École Normale Supérieure de París, and the Università di Bologna.

She graduated in Catalan Philology from the Universitat de València with the Extraordinary Undergraduate Degree Award and the National End-of-Degree Award. She completed the Master’s Degree in Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Thought (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, 2018) and the Master’s Degree in Formación del Profesorado (UCV, 2019). She was also awarded the Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado from the Universitat de València. In addition, she was the founder, editor, and chief proofreader of Gargots Revista Literaria.

She was a predoctoral researcher in the Departament de Filologia Catalana at the Universitat de València and at the Institut Interuniversitari de Filologia Valenciana within the Programa de Formación de Profesorado Universitario (FPU) of the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades (2018–2023).
