María Sancho Alonso holds a degree in Biology from the University of Valencia, a Master’s degree in Biomedical Biotechnology from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Valencia. Since September 2025, she has been working as an Assistant Professor (Profesor Ayudante Doctor) in the Department of Human Anatomy and Embryology at the University of Valencia.

Since 2018, she has participated in various research projects focused on neuroscience and neurological and psychiatric disorders. She is also a member of the Spanish Society for Neuroscience (SENC), the Barcelona Biomedical Research Institute (IIBB-CSIC), the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS), the Spanish Network for Research on Stress, and the CIBER in Mental Health (CIBERSAM).
