Estudios postdoctorales en el Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies (San Diego, 1994) y en el Departamento de Bioquímica y Biofísica de la Universidad de Estocolmo European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) Fellow (1995-1997). Profesor Titular de Universidad (1999-2011) y Catedrático de Bioquímica y Biología Molecular (2011-actualidad) en la Universidad de Valencia. Profesor Visitante en la Texas A&M University (TAMU, 2009) y en la Universidad de California San Francisco (UCSF, 2022). Dirige el laboratorio de Proteínas de Membrana (https://research.uv.es/membrana/) desde 1999 y es responsable de proyectos nacionales, autonómicos y de contratos de I+D. Evaluador de proyectos y programas de investigación para distintas agencias nacionales e internacionales. También realiza una actividad intensa de divulgación colaborando con la Unidad de Cultura Científica de la Universidad de Valencia. Secretario Académico (2015-2019) y Vicedirector (2019-2022) de la Escuela de Doctorado de la Universidad de Valencia. Miembro de la Junta Directiva de la Sociedad Española de Bioquímica y Biología Molecular (SEBBM, 2016-2020) encargado de la gestión de los Grupos Científicos y Cónsul de la SEBBM en Valencia (2020-actualidad).
