Biography

Juanjo Monsell Corts is a substitute professor in the Department of English and German Philology at the University of Valencia. During his doctoral studies, he was a beneficiary of one of the predoctoral research staff recruitment grants offered by the Generalitat Valenciana and carried out research stays at the Universität Wien (Austria), the Universität Hildesheim (Germany), the Universiteit Utrecht (Netherlands), and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Germany). He completed a Bachelor's degree in Modern Languages and their Literatures (German and French) and a Master's degree in Research in Languages and Literatures at the University of Valencia. He has also taken courses in the Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Studies. He has translated various literary works and written dramatic works. His research focuses on German postdramatic theater and the mechanisms it employs to represent different types of violence. In his doctoral thesis, he conducts an analysis, within the framework of memory studies, of various 20th-century literary works that connect colonialism and National Socialism.
