Summary of CV. He obtained a degree in Mathematics in 1989, and a PhD in Mathematics in 1992 from the University of Valencia, both with extraordinary prize. He is professor at the Department of Mathematics since 2016. His topics of scientific interest include various aspects of the numerical analysis of partial differential equations applied to the mathematical modeling of biological and industrial processes and other areas of scientific computing. He has more than 70 publications in prestigious journals, 50 in the first quartile of its scientific categories. These publications have more than 2500 citations in WOS. He has participated in 12 research projects, four of them in the European Community, and has been a principal investigator in 4 national projects since 2011. Summary of CV. The declarant obtained a degree in Mathematics in 1989 and, after having a pre-doctoral FPU fellowship, a doctorate in Mathematical Sciences in 1992, both at the University of Valencia and with extraordinary prize. He obtained a position as a doctoral assistant professor at the University of Valencia in 1993, as an associate professor in 1998 and has been professor in the Mathematics department of this university since 2016. He was awarded a FPI postdoctoral fellowship to visit the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), between 1995 and 1996. During this period, he began with Professor Tony Chan research on issues related to image processing (noise suppression and restoration of images) by non-linear elliptic partial differential equations, whose numerical solution required solving linear and non-linear equations and optimization problems. These techniques were also applied to obtain more efficient algorithms than the classical ones in some optimization problems in the design of electronic components. Subsequently, as of the year 2000, his topics of scientific interest were extended to various aspects of the numerical analysis of hyperbolic systems of conservation laws, especially gas dynamics, adaptive methods and non-linear interpolation. More recently these topics of interest have been extended to the mathematical modeling of biological and industrial processes, the analysis and numerical resolution of vehicular traffic models, polydisperse sedimentation and flow in porous media and other different areas of scientific computation, such as the analysis and implementation of WENO reconstructions, the design of partitions of flow for hyperbolic systems of conservation laws and the use of implicit-explicit integrators for the solution of partial differential equations with strongly degenerate and non-smooth diffusive terms by means of the method of lines. Throughout his scientific career, he paid maximum attention to the implementation of his codes in high-performance multiprocessor systems. He has more than 70 publications in prestigious journals, with 50 of these in the first quartile of their respective scientific categories. These publications have more than 2500 citations in the scientific databases collected in WOS.
