Biography

Nadia Paola Ávila Gonzales is a junior researcher at the UV Legaltech Lab. Her research activity began focusing on e-commerce regulation in Bolivia related to data protection, electronic means of payment, smart contracts, consumer protection, and digital evidence. As a result of her work as a researcher, she has published 1 book chapters and 1article in specialized journals; she has also actively participated in national and international congresses and conferences and she's currently working on her first monograph publication.

To complete her research, she also explored non-academic paths and participated in blockchain-oriented hackathons following her curiosity and deep desire to explore the transformative impact of technology beyond the academic world. Aware of this, her Ph.D. advisor invited her to participate in Motivem, an innovative ideas contest, where her team developed a blockchain-based app that was awarded first prize in the law area. After this, she was also invited to collaborate with the UV Legaltech Lab team, where she found herself combining her legal background with a passion for technological innovation.

Currently, she is at the UV Legaltech Lab working on the design and development of expert systems that solve legal issues and is devoted to fostering a collaborative learning environment and contributing to the advancement of legal technology and operations.
