Paula Martínez Sanchis has been working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Valencia since September 2024. Prior to this position, she spent three years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich (Germany). She earned her PhD from the University of Deusto (awarded with the Alberto Alberdi Prize for the best doctoral thesis by the Basque Government in 2023), located in San Sebastián, Spain. Additionally, she has been a visiting researcher at several international institutions, including Queen Margaret University in the United Kingdom, the University of Heidelberg in Germany, and Audencia Business School in France. She also holds a Master's in Business Strategy from the University of Valencia, Spain.
In terms of professional experience outside academia, she worked as a Marketing and Communication Assistant at the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago, United States, and as a Launch Analyst Trainee at Ford Motor Company in Valencia, Spain.
Currently, her research interests focus on the digital transformation of family businesses, particularly on the factors that either facilitate or hinder this digitalisation process, as well as trust in remote work settings. She is also interested in entrepreneurial families as a distinct area of study and the role of their territorial embeddedness. Her research primarily employs qualitative methodologies.
